Photo Styling with KC's Shanley Cox

This past February, I attended Shanley Cox's Photography & Styling Workshop at Market Studio in Kansas City and had A BLAST. Shanley, of Shanley Cox Creative is the coolest girl to get to know, and oh so talented! Shanley specializes in writing, photography and consulting for small businesses and brands, and shared with us her tricks for product styling and photography. The morning at Market Studio was filled with croissants, coffee, creatives and lots of camera snapping. Those of us in attendance were able to watch demonstrations by Shanley herself as well as Jenna Murillo of Workspacery, and also learn some savvy blogging advice from Patience Randle. As an amateur when it comes to photography, it was so beneficial to leave Shanley's workshop feeling like I had a much better understanding of my camera and shooting in manual. One thing I've really been loving this year is learning how to use Lightroom for photo editing, and that was another topic we touched on at the Photography & Styling Workshop. It was so fun to shoot in Market Studio's space with a wide selection of props, and then have a group Lightroom editing session on the spot. If you're a KC creative looking to expand your knowledge of product styling and photography, be on the lookout for Shanley's future workshops! Also, who knows there might be treats from McLain's Bakery....
